Job description

We are seeking volunterers to support our project facilitator to deliver community growing sessions, helping to create an inclusive and welcoming environment.

This volunteer role is an important part in helping to enable residents of social housing to connect with local green spaces and to improve their wellbeing, mental health and social connections.

Gardening experience is not essential but you will need to have an interest in gardening and working outside, as well as an interest in volunteering with people from a wide range of backgrounds who face barriers to accessing green spaces.

This role will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check, as you may be involved in working with vulnerable adults.

Role Description

• This role is primarily to assist the project facilitator with the delivery of outreach activities and nature-based sessions in public and residential green spaces as well as our De Frene Market Garden.
• Help to set up sessions and participate in giving feedback when sessions end.
• Help implement the relevant Health and Safety procedures with the supervision, guidance and support of the Project Facilitator.
• To be an active part of the team, working with the Project Facilitator to support participants during sessions, welcoming them into the project, helping them meet other people and orientating them to the site.

Volunteers would need to be available Wednesdays 5.30-8pm and/or Sundays 10.30am-2pm
