Job description
Oldham's Community Food Growing Project is looking forapart time educatorto join the team to work with school and community groups that access the project sites, to guide participants through activities that develop their knowledge and skills in horticulture particularly food growing and work towards a qualification.
You will be responsible for developing and leading practical food growing activities with students and community participants.
This role will involve liaising with partnering schools and groups to develop a programme of horticulture sessions to meet qualification learning outcomes.
The role requires an individual with knowledge and a passion for community food growing and experience of delivering community training.as well as the ability to engage and work with young people and members of the community.An understanding of engaging people with special educational needs would be advantageous.
The role would be suited to an enthusiastic, committed, organised, hands-on individual who is passionate about sharing food growing knowledge and horticulture skills.
Key Tasks:
To develop and lead educational community food growing sessions.
Funding for 12months currently for 16hrs per week, awaiting other funding outcomes for additional hours.
£15.72 per hour
Location: The Hub, Alexandra Park and Wildbrook Community Food and Growing Hub, Fitton Hill growing sites
